Detroit legends (white version): AKA ‘Theo & Carl & Omar & Kenny.’ t-shirt

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

WELL, it seems not only do we love Detroit house, techno and electronica old and new but so do you lot too judging by the success of our original Detroit legends tee. So we decided to do it all over again but this time in white with red lettering. We still cheekily pay tribute to Motor City’s  Messrs. Parrish, Craig, Smith and Dixon and the t-shirt itself is still super heavyweight, 100% ring-spun cotton with twin needle stitching on collar, sleeves, shoulders and waistband, plus Lycra in collar.

The t-shirts are priced £20 each which INCLUDES postage & packaging costs to anywhere in the world [the t-shirts are sent registered post to UK buyers]. Please drop me a line first at tim@bringdownthewalls.net for available sizes.

Many thanks.

Enjoy!

AVAILABLE IN SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE AND XL

JACK – [def.] a dance technique that was popular in the late 1980s and came from the early Chicago house music scene. The dance itself was sexually charged, with couples (often two men or two women) grinding their pelvises together. The style gave birth to the dance styles popular during the early UK acid house scene. When referring to house dancing this word has taken on a slightly more specific and less sexual meaning. Jacking is the technique that comes from moving the torso forward and backward in a rippling motion, as if a wave were passing through it. When this movement is repeated and sped up to match the beat of a song it is called jacking, or “the jack”. This technique is the most important movement in house dancing because it is the foundation that initiates more complex movements and footwork.

So there you go. Whether you want to jack your body, jack the groove or you’d just rather jack…than Fleetwood Mac, then this is the gear to do it in. My tribute to old-school Chicago, sweaty warehouse parties and the heady days of acid house, this strictly limited t-shirt is in light grey [or ash, as Hanes prefer to call it] with high-quality vinyl lettering in deep purple… man. It’s a super heavyweight tee, 100% ring-spun cotton with twin needle stitching on collar, sleeves, shoulders and waistband, plus Lycra in collar.

The t-shirts are priced £20 each which INCLUDES postage & packaging costs to anywhere in the world [the t-shirts are sent registered post to UK buyers]. Please drop me a line first at tim@bringdownthewalls.net for available sizes.

It’s time to jack, folks.

      SOLD OUT

IT’s 20 years since acid house captured the imagination of British youth and to celebrate one of the most significant cultural movements ever I put together a limited edition t-shirt for those that were there and those that wish they‘d been there.

Designed in sunflower yellow with high-quality black vinyl lettering, the tee is a nod to the famous smiley face logo worn by just about everyone back then.

The t-shirts are priced £20 each which INCLUDES postage & packaging costs to anywhere in the world [the t-shirts are sent registered post to UK buyers]. Please drop me a line first at tim@bringdownthewalls.net for available sizes.

Thanks!
